Lawn Care That Starts With the Soil
Fertilization, weed control and soil improvement for warm-season lawns, all from Treppendahl Landscape and all backed by a soil test.

Lawn Care Services
Your lawn has two jobs in south Louisiana: survive the heat and look good doing it. As a local lawn treatment company, our science-based lawn care services in Baton Rouge give it the help it needs, starting with a soil test and ending with grass the neighbors notice. We keep our lawn services focused on the lawn maintenance that actually moves the needle: weed control, feeding, and fixing the soil underneath. If your flower beds need attention too, our landscaping team takes care of those.

Why Our Lawn Services Start Below the Surface
A lot of the lawn problems we see aren't really grass problems. They're soil problems. Thin turf, poor color and grass that never seems to respond often trace back to high pH, low organic matter or compacted ground. That's especially common around newer homes, where construction strips or mixes the topsoil and heavy equipment packs it down before the lawn goes in.
So we soil test all new lawn clients. That in-depth soil test shapes the treatments that follow. When the soil needs more than fertilizer can give it, we tell you, and we have the tools to help fix it.

Lawn Problems We Help Fix
- Weeds that keep coming back: nutsedge, crabgrass, dollarweed and broadleaf weeds
- Thin or patchy grass that won't fill in, no matter how much you fertilize
- Hard, compacted soil where water puddles or runs off instead of soaking in
- New-construction lawns that look great at first, then decline within the first year
- Poor color from a soil pH problem or a nutrient imbalance
We work with the warm-season grasses that cover most Louisiana lawns: St. Augustine, Centipede, Bermuda and Zoysia. Each has its own needs, and we factor your turf type into every recommendation.

The 7 Step Annual Lawn Treatment Program
Our 7 Step Annual Lawn Treatment Program puts the essentials together: an in-depth soil test and assessment, seven treatments a year, grassy weed control and our Weed Kill Guarantee. It's pay as you go with no contract, and we text and email you the day before every visit. If you only pick one thing on this page, start here.
Aeration and Topdressing: Two Ways to Build Better Soil
When a soil test shows compaction or low organic matter, core aeration and topdressing can both help. Aeration relieves compaction and topdressing adds organic matter. Each one works on its own, they complement each other, and they don't have to happen in a set order. We schedule them around your lawn and the season.

Watch: When to Start a Lawn Program
What's the difference between the program and your other lawn services?
The program is the year-round plan: seven treatments that feed the lawn and control weeds. Core aeration and topdressing improve the soil itself, so we typically suggest them after your soil test shows compaction, low organic matter or a pH problem.
Do you treat lawn insects?
Yes, as part of the program. We apply insecticides only during the peak damage season, when insects can actually hurt your lawn, to limit the impact on the environment.
How do you price lawn care?
By turf size. For lawn treatment, we can usually give you a fast, accurate quote by measuring your lawn with Google Maps and emailing you an estimate, but we're happy to meet you at home if you'd like. Just call our office.
Which lawn service should I start with?
Start with the program, since it includes the soil test. Your results tell us whether aeration or topdressing would help. Want to see how we think first? Rob's Helpful Tips videos walk through a lot of it.
