New Beds and Plants, Installed in Days
From the first sketch to the last plant, Treppendahl Landscape installs new flower beds, shrubs, mulch and lighting for Baton Rouge homes.

Landscape Installation
Maybe the beds came with the house and never fit it. Maybe a renovation left the landscape torn up, or the shrubs have swallowed the front windows. Our landscape installation service gives you a fresh start: new or redone flower beds, the right plants, clean mulch and, if you want them, lighting and drainage, all installed by our crew in a few days. It brings several of our landscaping services in Baton Rouge together in one project, and it starts with listening to what you want from your outdoor space.
What Our Landscape Installation Covers
New and Redone Flower Beds
We build new beds, or tear out tired ones and start over with better shape and structure.
Landscape Planting
Shrubs, perennials, trees and seasonal color chosen for your sun, your shade and the look you want.
Fresh Mulch
A clean finished layer that holds moisture in the soil and helps keep weeds down.
Lighting
Landscape lighting can be part of the same project, so the new beds look good after dark too.
Drainage
Catch basins and drainage when standing water would drown the new plants.
Our Custom Landscape Installation Process
- 1
Consultation: we meet you at the property to hear what you like, what bugs you about the landscape and how you use it
- 2
Plan and sketch: we put together a custom layout for your beds and plantings, so you can see it before we dig
- 3
Quality plants and materials: healthy plants and good materials that hold up to Louisiana heat and rain
- 4
Installation: our crew does the work, with a project manager overseeing the job from start to finish
- 5
Aftercare: we walk you through how to care for the new plants while they settle in
- 6
Maintenance estimate: if you would rather skip the upkeep, we give you an estimate for Bed Maintenance so it stays looking sharp

Front Yard Landscaping That Fits the House
The front yard is the first thing anyone sees, and a good installation makes the whole house look more put together. Our past projects show the range. On one, we removed a dated landscape and replaced it with a cleaner, more formal layout in white and green that suits a mid-century modern house. On another, we rebuilt a much larger landscape from scratch after a big renovation on an older Baton Rouge home.
Agapanthus, flax lilies, pink muhly grass, boxwood hedges and Rising Sun redbuds have all found homes in our beds. The plant list for your landscape depends on the house, the light and how much upkeep you want.

Landscape Planting for South Louisiana
Rob is a big believer in planting trees and shrubs in winter. A dormant plant does not have to support new leaves, so it puts its energy into roots, and that head start pays off with stronger growth in spring. We also lean toward plants that are proven in our climate, including natives, so your new landscape can handle the heat, the humidity and the rain.
Good flower bed landscaping is about more than what goes on top. If water collects where a new bed will go, drainage can be part of the plan, because a beautiful planting sitting in a puddle will not stay beautiful for long.
What Does Landscaping Cost?
Every property is different, so we do not publish a price list. Cost depends on the size of the beds, the plants and materials, and whether lighting or drainage is part of the job. After the consultation you get a quote for your project, and you know exactly what you are getting before any work begins.

Watch: When It's Time to Plant
How long does a landscape installation take?
Most projects take our crew a few days. Larger jobs, or ones that include drainage or lighting, can run longer, and we will talk timing with you before we start.
Will I see a plan before you start?
Yes. We sketch the layout of your beds and plantings so you can review it, ask questions and make changes before anything goes in the ground.
Which plants do well in Baton Rouge?
Plants that are proven in our heat and humidity, including many natives, give you the best odds. We choose for your sun, shade and soil, and we will tell you honestly if something you love is going to struggle in that spot.
Do you mulch new beds?
Yes. Fresh mulch is part of a finished installation. It holds moisture, keeps soil temperature steadier and helps keep weeds down.
Can you add drainage to the project?
Yes. If a bed stays soggy after rain, we can fold yard drainage into the same project so the new plants are not sitting in water.
