Lawn Fertilization & Weed Control

Mowing every week and throwing down a bag of weed and feed in spring will not give you a healthy lawn. Our lawn fertilization and weed control service starts with a soil test, feeds your grass what it is actually missing, and goes after the weeds most companies leave behind. It is the heart of our 7 Step Annual Lawn Treatment Program, and it is the reason Baton Rouge homeowners stop thinking about their lawn and start getting compliments on it.

Lawn Fertilization and Weed Control That Starts Below the Surface

Every new lawn treatment client gets an in-depth soil test. We take samples across your lawn, send them to a lab, and use the results to decide how to feed your lawn. If the pH is off or the soil is low in organic matter, more fertilizer will not fix it, and we would rather tell you that than keep selling you product. That science is what separates real lawn care from a spreader and a guess.

What's Included in the 7 Step Annual Lawn Treatment Program

Lawn fertilization and weed control comes as part of our 7 Step Annual Lawn Treatment Program. Every program client gets all of this:

  • In-Depth Soil Test & Assessment

A clear look at your weeds, thin spots, color and turf type, plus lab soil results with recommendations, so every treatment is based on your soil, not a template.

  • 7 Treatments a Year

Pre-emergent, post-emergent, fertilizer and the right inputs at the right time, all year long.

  • Highest Quality Products

Golf-course-level 6-month pre-emergent, root growth stimulator, 15-week slow-release fertilizer and nutsedge (nutgrass) control included. We don't cut corners.

7Step Annual Lawn Treatment ProgramWeed Kill Guarantee
  • Grassy Weeds Included

Nutsedge and crabgrass are part of the program. Most of our competitors won't treat them.

  • No Surprise Visits

We text and email you the day before every treatment, so you always know when we are coming.

  • Pay as You Go

No contract required. You stay because the lawn looks better, not because you signed something.

Weed Kill
Guarantee

Our Weed Kill Guarantee

If you have not seen substantial visual improvement to your weeds after 4 consecutive treatments, we will refund your last visit.

We can make that promise because the program works. You will notice weeds starting to fade after the first visit. It is a gradual process, and we will not pretend we can knock everything out in one trip, but within a year your lawn should show the full benefit.

The Weeds We Go After

South Louisiana grows weeds as well as it grows grass. Our treatments target the ones that frustrate homeowners most:

  • Nutsedge: the shiny, fast-growing weed that pops back up days after you pull it. Nutsedge control is part of the program, not an add-on
  • Crabgrass: a grassy weed that spreads into thin, sunny spots
  • Dollarweed: round, coin-shaped leaves that thrive in wet, overwatered lawns
  • Virginia buttonweed: a creeping weed with small white, star-shaped flowers that spreads through damp lawns
  • Broadleaf weeds: clover and the other winter weeds that show up before your grass greens up

A golf-course-quality pre-emergent stops many weeds before they sprout, and targeted post-emergent treatments handle the ones already growing. The goal is a lawn so thick and healthy that weeds have nowhere to start.

Grown for Warm-Season Louisiana Lawns

Our lawns are St. Augustine, Centipede, Bermuda and Zoysia, and each one has its own needs. We factor your turf type and your soil results into every visit, and we only use insecticides during peak damage season to limit the impact on the environment. Once a treatment dries, it is safe for kids and pets to be back out on the grass.

Weed and Feed vs. a Real Lawn Program

Weed and feed products put the same mix on every lawn in town, whether your soil needs it or not. A professional program is matched to your soil test, timed to the season, and adjusted when we see something change. When a lawn has deeper problems like compacted or poor soil, we may recommend core aeration or topdressing to fix the ground the grass is growing in. You can see everything we offer on our lawn care services page.

Watch: Don't Miss the Pre-Emergent Window

Which weeds do you treat?

Nutsedge, crabgrass, dollarweed, Virginia buttonweed, clover and the other broadleaf and grassy weeds common in south Louisiana lawns. Grassy weeds are included in the program at no extra charge.

What's the difference between pre-emergent and post-emergent?

Pre-emergent stops weed seeds from sprouting in the first place. Post-emergent treats weeds that are already up. Your lawn gets both, timed to the season.

Is it safe for my kids and pets?

Yes. Once the treatment has dried, kids and pets can go back out on the lawn.

When do you use insecticides?

Only during the peak damage season, when insects can actually hurt your lawn. We keep them to a minimum to limit the impact on the environment.

Which grass types do you treat?

The warm-season grasses that make up most Louisiana lawns: St. Augustine, Centipede, Bermuda and Zoysia.
